Pepper prices expected to recover strongly in the second half of 2025

In the short term, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain low. Many farmers and speculators are still holding onto their stocks and are not in a hurry to sell, expecting prices to recover more strongly in the third and fourth quarters of this year. This hoarding mentality has reduced supply to the market, helping to limit the sharp decline.

According to the latest report from Ptexim, demand from major markets such as the US, EU, the Middle East and especially China is increasing strongly. This development has positively supported pepper prices. In addition, the temporary easing of geopolitical tensions after the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel has also helped the Middle East market recover strongly.

The deal is expected to open up access to a pepper market worth around $180 million. Demand in the Middle East is forecast to increase by up to 35% in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, becoming an important driving force for global pepper prices.

Regarding supply, the Brazilian Spice Association has recommended a temporary suspension of exports during low prices. This move has caused many orders to shift to Vietnam, making our country a key supply point in the global pepper export chain.

Synthesizing supply and demand factors, experts believe that pepper prices will likely recover more clearly in the second half of 2025. Current low inventory levels are creating a good foundation for prices to recover in a sustainable direction.
