In Japan, RSS3 rubber price on Tocom - Tokyo floor; June 2025 delivery contract was at 296.1 JPY/kg, down 0.5%; July 2025 delivery contract was at 301.3 JPY/kg, up 0.43%; August 2025 delivery contract was at 300.8 JPY/kg, up 0.27%; September 2025 delivery contract was at 297.3 JPY/kg, down 2.47%; October 2025 delivery contract was at 295.3 JPY/kg, up 0.65%; November 2025 delivery contract was at 290.7 JPY/kg, up 0.38%; December 2025 delivery contract was at 286 JPY/kg, up 2.16%.
In Shanghai, the price of natural rubber on the SHFE exchange; June 2025 contract was at 13,555 yuan/ton; July 2025 contract was at 13,635 yuan/ton; August 2025 contract was at 13,675 yuan/ton; September 2025 contract was at 13,650 yuan/ton. October 2025 contract was at 13,675 yuan/ton, maintaining the increase.
In Singapore, the price of TSR20 rubber on the SGX; TSR20 rubber futures contract for July 2025 was traded at 160.70 cents/kg; TSR20 rubber futures contract for August 2025 was traded at 159.90 cents/kg; TSR20 rubber futures contract for September 2025 was traded at 159.80 cents/kg; TSR20 rubber futures contract for October 2025 was traded at 159.80 cents/kg; TSR20 rubber futures contract for November 2025 was traded at 160.20 cents/kg.
In another development between the two major corporations, on June 5, 2025, Goodyear announced that it will close its tire manufacturing plant in Kariega, South Africa. This move is part of a broader restructuring plan in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, aiming to “transform its market access strategy” and optimize its operations and product portfolio in this region.
Goodyear said in a statement that it will also restructure some of its sales, administrative and management (SAG) functions. Despite the plant closure, Goodyear will maintain its sales, distribution and HiQ retail network in South Africa.
The plant in Kariega currently produces consumer and off-road tyres with a capacity of 10,000 tyres per day.
This is part of the ongoing “Goodyear Forward” strategy, which aims to save more than $1.5 billion (1.37 billion euros) by the end of 2025.
At Sailun Group, on June 6, 2025, the Group announced that it had signed a five-year global cooperation and tire supply agreement with mining group Rio Tinto, from 2025 to 2030, for the Simandou iron ore mining project in Guinea.
The contract was signed in Perth, Australia, and covers all-terrain tires. Sailun executives confirmed this was a major step forward for the company’s off-road tire business during an earnings call on May 21. Sailun already supplies products to major brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Case New Holland, JCB (UK) and First Tractor Co.
In addition, Sailun said it is receiving great interest from investors in its “liquid gold” tire product line, which is said to simultaneously solve three important technical factors: low rolling resistance, wet traction and wear resistance.
The “liquid gold” technology is now being applied to a wide range of products, including passenger , commercial and special-purpose tires. However, Sailun did not disclose further details about this technology.
Domestic rubber price
In the domestic market, the price of rubber latex remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, Binh Long Rubber Company purchased latex at 386 - 396 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex with 60% DRC was priced at 14,000 VND/kg.
Grade 1 mixed latex is at 409 VND/DRC/kg; grade 2 mixed latex is at 359 VND/DRC/kg.
Phu Rieng Rubber Company purchases mixed latex at 400 VND/DRC; liquid latex at 435 VND/TSC.
Mang Yang Rubber Company purchases latex at a price ranging from 397 to 401 VND/kg, depending on the type. Accordingly, grade 1 latex is at 401 VND/kg/kg; grade 2 latex is at 397 VND/kg/kg.
Ba Ria Rubber Company, the price of level 1 latex rubber is 452 VND/TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degrees from 30 and above; level 2 is 447 VND/TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degrees from 25 to under 30; level 3 is 442 VND/TSC degree/kg, applied to TSC degrees from 20 to under 25.
Cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC ≥ 50% at 18,000 VND/kg; cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC from 45-50% at 16,700 VND/kg; coagulated latex with DRC from 35-45% at 13,500 VND/kg.
