When to meet China, South Korea, Uzbekistan?

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên15/03/2025

In this gathering, the Vietnam U.22 team will participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international football tournament, taking place in China. In this year's tournament, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) continues to maintain a very high-quality guest lineup from different regions of Asia to increase competition and improve the skills of young players. In addition to the familiar guests, Vietnam U.22 (Southeast Asia) and Uzbekistan U.22 (Central Asia), the tournament also has the participation of a very strong East Asian team, Korea U.22.

U.22 Vietnam will play their opening match against U.22 Korea at 2:30 p.m. on March 20. After that, the Vietnamese boys will meet U.22 Uzbekistan at 6:35 p.m. on March 23, then face host U.22 China on March 25.

Match schedule of U.22 Vietnam in China

This is the second consecutive time that the Vietnam U.22 team has accepted an invitation to participate in a quality tournament in China. The last tournament took place in September 2024, when the Vietnam U.22 team, under the leadership of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, had three very useful "test matches", respectively against China U.22 (lost 1-2), Uzbekistan U.22 (lost 1-2) and Malaysia U.22 (won 2-1).

Because it is at the same time as the FIFA Days training session in March 2025 of the Vietnam team, coach Kim Sang-sik continues to hand over the head coach position of the Vietnam U.22 team to assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international football tournament. According to the plan, on March 17, the Vietnam U.22 team will travel to China to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international U22 tournament.

Many players who played in last year's tournament are still present in the U.22 Vietnam team this time, such as Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Thanh Nhan... In addition, a series of new players were also given the opportunity to try their hand, including some young players who grew up from the U.19 and U.20 teams such as Nguyen Quang Vinh (SLNA), Nguyen Le Phat (PVF-CAND). Notably, another overseas Vietnamese face joined the team this time, midfielder Viktor Le.
