Rushing construction of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway 'upgrade' project

TPO - As the rainy and stormy season approaches, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has directed contractors to increase their forces and vehicles to "sprint" and speed up construction at the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway expansion project site through Hue City and Da Nang.

The North-South Expressway expansion project in the eastern part of La Son - Hoa Lien is one of the key items of the North-South Expressway in the eastern part, aiming to gradually complete the traffic infrastructure of the Central region, meet the transportation needs and reduce the load on National Highway 1.

The project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board. This expressway project is about 65km long, with 4 lanes, the road surface is widened to 22m, the design speed is from 60 to 80km/h according to expressway standards. The project passes through two localities, Hue City and Da Nang, with a total investment of more than 3,010 billion VND from the State budget; most of which is allocated for construction and handling of related technical infrastructure works...

The project started in Hue City on May 29, with construction time of 240 days.

Main package XL01 - construction and installation of La Son - Hoa Lien section has a contract value of more than 2,700 billion VND.

According to the plan, the project must be completed in early 2026. A representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that, up to now, the site clearance work on the route has basically reached the scale of 4 lanes from the previous La Son - Tuy Loan project; currently, the site clearance work is only to supplement some residential road locations and extend canals.

Currently, the construction work is mainly focused on roadbeds, bridges, drainage culverts and traffic safety systems. Construction teams are arranged simultaneously, running continuously in 3 shifts/day to ensure the set progress and race before the rainy season.

At the construction site, the contractors mobilized 54 construction teams with more than 570 workers, 76 engineers and hundreds of machines and equipment... to participate in the construction simultaneously.

Notably, along the entire project route, 50 bridges were built to expand new units combined with old units.

In many additional single-piece bridges, the volume of bored piles - one of the complex items of the construction units - has reached a completion rate of 100%, such as Ta Lang - Gian Bi bridge at Km51+741.79, 21/21 piles have been completed; Km41+950 bridge has completed 10/10 piles; Km60+986 bridge has completed 14/14 piles...

The representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that taking advantage of the sunny weather, contractors are currently speeding up the progress of the project. The Board will continue to direct and closely monitor the progress and quality of the project for contractors and related units, ensuring absolute safety during the upcoming rainy and stormy season, striving to bring the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway expansion project to the finish line on schedule early next year.
