When merging provinces, local press agencies will also be consolidated and restructured in terms of organizational model and operation. However, instead of being confused or passive, many young reporters consider this a valuable opportunity to learn, grow, expand information coverage and move towards a larger and more professional journalism. A clear proof is that most of the staff, reporters and editors of Ha Giang Newspaper have enthusiastically registered to work in Tuyen Quang province. Journalist Nguyen Duy Tuan, one of the young reporters of Ha Giang Newspaper, the pioneer in working in Tuyen Quang in the first batch, shared: “Today's young generation, thanks to being nurtured in the glorious flow of the provincial press, is inheriting the spirit of dedication, love for the profession and revolutionary journalism ethics. Ha Giang Newspaper is the place where I spent my youth and helped me grow up. Before the moment of closing the old newspaper, we were extremely emotional. But we understand that this is not the end, but the opening of a new phase for stronger development.”
Today, Ha Giang Newspaper publishes its last issue, closing a proud 61-year journey. It is an emotional moment. Personally, although I have only been with the editorial office for 15 years, a small part in the flow of more than half a century, those were the most brilliant years of my youth. Closing a newspaper does not mean closing the past, but opening a new chapter of integration and development. We are proud to be a part of the changing history, to contribute our voice to a land that is growing day by day.
