At the end of 2025, Vietnam will welcome an international cultural event: Eifman Ballet, a famous contemporary ballet troupe from St. Petersburg (Russia), will perform for the first time. This is a rare opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to enjoy the pinnacle of ballet art from the land of birch trees.

The Eifman Ballet St. Petersburg was founded by the talented choreographer Boris Eifman in 1977, originally under the name Leningrad New Ballet. From its inception, the company was conceived as an “artistic laboratory” – a place to explore new forms of performance, with a bold goal: to become a ballet theater of a single choreographer.

For over 40 years, Eifman Ballet has built a global reputation not only for its beautiful dances but also for transforming the art of dance into a spiritual experience in the world's leading theaters.

The New York Times called Boris Eifman "the foremost living choreographer," asserting that "the ballet world need not search any further for a great choreographer; he is Boris Eifman."

International reviews have highlighted the troupe's unique "psychological ballet" style. For example, when discussing Anna Karenina , Australian magazine Dance Informa Magazine praised: "Eifman's dancers are incredibly daring, athletic and capable of performing astonishingly difficult movements." An article in Eurasia Review also noted that Eifman "translates the inner feelings of Tolstoy's literature into physical sensations."

The tour will have two stops in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. In Ho Chi Minh City, Eifman Ballet will perform selected excerpts from Anna Karenina at the City Theater on November 27, 28 and 29. In Hanoi, Anna Karenina will be presented in its entirety at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace on December 4 and 5. This is the only complete performance in Vietnam.
