This is a monumental musical work, performed by the musician, to honor the values of dedication and sacrifice for independence - freedom - happiness of generations of Vietnamese people in thousands of years of history, bringing prosperity, peace and prosperity to the Fatherland today and striving to develop in the future.
Musician Nguyen Thanh Trung shared that with the long poem "Today's Country", he wishes to contribute his work to the country's growing and colorful musical flow.
“Today’s Country” is structured in 6 chapters, combining epic-lyrical content and diverse musical techniques, reflecting the journey of building, defending, building, integrating, and reaching the future. The special point is that the work not only recounts history through music, but also guides listeners through changes in tone. This is the musical language to “transform” the stages: from tragic to march, from soaring to affirmative.
The chapters include “Origin, epic opening words”, “Building and defending the country, the march of blood and fire”, “The country rises”, “Declaration”, “Integration” and “Future”. The 6 chapters are slices of history, present and future, woven together with diverse musical techniques.
The work is being rushed to completion in MV format, with musician Duong Duc Thuy arranging the music, sending it to the voices of People's Artist Quoc Hung and Sao Mai-singer Nguyen Thu Hang along with a choir of 200 people singing with a symphony orchestra.
“I hope that “Today’s Country” is seen as a contemporary epic, continuing the tradition of Vietnamese epic music but at the same time bringing a fresh breath of the integration era. This is a work not only to listen to, but to live with, to ponder with, a song that goes with the years,” said musician Nguyen Thanh Trung.
Musician Nguyen Thanh Trung is known for his songs on a variety of topics, from love for the homeland, celebrating the Party, celebrating the country on the occasion of 50 years of unification, love between couples, love for parents...
