On August 28, the Vietnam Press Museum in collaboration with the Institute of Journalism and Communication (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) organized a thematic exhibition "Memories of Independence Day and Heritage for Young People."

The event recreates the pioneering role of revolutionary journalism in the historic Autumn of 1945, while inspiring the younger generation with patriotism, the desire for independence and freedom, and the responsibility to preserve precious historical heritage.

During the historic August days, when our entire nation looked forward to autumn 80 years ago, the exhibition was a meaningful activity, contributing to arousing pride and gratitude to previous generations and continuing the flow of revolutionary journalism heritage for today and tomorrow.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , from the first newspapers founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc to revolutionary publications during the General Uprising, the press has become a bridge connecting the will of the entire people, adding strength for the country to rise up and seize power.

“In the early days of independence, the press promptly reflected the heroic spirit of the nation, accompanied the young Government , and affirmed its indispensable position in the process of nation building. Today’s event recreates that historical journey through secret newspapers, propaganda posters, and photos capturing the historic Ba Dinh moment… All are witnesses of a nation that knows how to stand up for the right to live,” said Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi.

The exhibition space has a check-in area and 10 large panels designed throughout. Revolutionary journalism from the beginning founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc is prominently displayed with newspapers such as Le Paria, Thanh Nien, Tranh Dau, Lao Dong, Co Vo San... considered "sharp weapons" on the ideological front.

The space continues to recreate the seething revolutionary atmosphere through the newspapers Vietnam Doc Lap, Cuu Quoc, Tien Phong, the calls "Forward!" under the Viet Minh flag; strategic information "Japan-France fighting each other and our actions"; the climax of the August General Uprising; and the historical moment when the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, which was enthusiastically reported in the press.

The highlights are also the newspaper covers, sketches, and propaganda paintings celebrating National Day September 2, selected from the collections of journalists and artists, preserving the mark of revolutionary art, bringing the public back to the heroic spirit of the early days of the nation's founding.

Within the exhibition, visitors can scan QR codes to explore 3D models of cultural and historical works in 34 provinces and cities. The AR virtual reality experience helps the younger generation connect vividly with heritage right in the exhibition space./.
