Attending the workshop were poet Nguyen Khoa Diem, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Committee; comrade Nguyen Chi Tai, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences, and many scientists and historical researchers from various units and localities.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai acknowledged that 80 years have passed but the values of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 remain intact, becoming a great driving force for the development of the country in general and Hue City in particular. Researching and reviewing the historical values of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 is not only an opportunity to review the heroic past and show gratitude to previous generations, but also a valuable lesson for Hue City to continue to develop more quickly and sustainably in the future.
At the workshop, scientists and historical researchers focused on clarifying three main groups of topics, including "Historical significance and lessons learned from the August Revolution of 1945"; "Hue in the August Revolution of 1945" and "The role of forces and organizations in Hue in the August Revolution of 1945".
Many papers have attracted the attention of researchers, such as: "August Revolution and the aspiration for prosperity of the Vietnamese people" by Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Hanoi National University; "August Revolution 1945 - the victory of the strategic shift, of the process of building forces and promoting the strength of the entire people of the Party" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences and Dr. Luong Thi Can, Thu Dau Mot University; “Tran Huy Lieu - A loyal revolutionary soldier, who contributed to making history in the August Revolution of 1945 by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, President of the Vietnam Historical Sciences Association; “The foundation for building Vietnam - US cooperation relations initiated in the August Revolution movement of the Vietnamese people in 1945” by historian Duong Trung Quoc; “The Declaration of Independence - Affirmation of the freedom and independence of nations” by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien; “Hue in the August Revolution of 1945: Position, developments and historical significance” by Dr. Phan Tien Dung, Master. The presentations summarized and focused on analyzing many important aspects of the August Revolution in 1945. Thereby affirming the great victory of the August Revolution, opening an era of national independence associated with socialism.
At the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Quang Hai, former Director of the Institute of History, former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Historical Research, said: The August Revolution of 1945 is a golden milestone in the history of the revolutionary struggle of the Vietnamese people, a historical event of great epochal significance and profound international significance. The August Revolution of 1945 not only has historical value and significance for the Vietnamese revolution but also has great international significance.
“The victory of the August Revolution in 1945 has been, is and will continue to be promoted in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country. Facing new opportunities and new challenges, Vietnam continues its innovation, promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration. In the first decades of the 21st century, Vietnam is constantly growing stronger and stronger, the prestige and position of Vietnam in the world have been enhanced like never before. And Vietnam is now entering a new era - the era of striving to develop richly and prosperously for the nation”, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Quang Hai affirmed.
