Ederson is being pursued by both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

However, the Brazilian goalkeeper's choice of Fenerbahce angered the board and many Galatasaray fans. Previously, the reigning Turkish Super League champions seemed to have completed the final steps to recruit the Manchester City goalkeeper.

The Galatasaray board even planned to introduce Ederson to fans in a match in the Turkish Super League (Süper Lig). However, at the last minute, Fenerbahce unexpectedly intervened, causing Ederson to "turn the tables" spectacularly.

According to Türkiye Today , Fenerbahce reached an agreement with Manchester City for a transfer fee ranging from 13 to 14 million euros (around £12 million), with additional bonuses.

Ederson agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce, signing a three-year contract (until 2028, with an option to extend until 2029) and receiving a salary of €8 million per year, plus performance-related bonuses.

Many Galatasaray fans accused Ederson of being greedy for money, so he rejected their club to join their arch-rivals in the Turkish Super League. Galatasaray, after the departure of legendary goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, identified Ederson as their top target this summer.

The Turkish club initially agreed personal terms with Ederson on a three-year contract worth €7.5 million per season, but when Fenerbahce offered him €8 million per year, Ederson changed his mind.
