Apple is likely to launch a series of completely new accessories for the iPhone 17 such as fabric cases, spare battery cases and straps.

The iPhone 17 is expected to be launched on September 9. Similar to previous years, Apple's latest smartphone line will be launched with a series of corresponding accessories. In addition to silicone cases, rumors say that Apple may introduce some new accessories.

First, leaker Majin Bu predicted that fabric cases would return on the iPhone 17 under the name TechWoven. Apple previously launched FineWoven fabric cases, replacing leather cases for environmental reasons. However, many people complained that FineWoven was not durable and not luxurious, causing Apple to stop producing it after a year.

According to rumors, TechWoven's fabric material has been improved to overcome the shortcomings of FineWoven. According to Majin Bu, the new material helps protect the case from impact, scratches and wear, while still ensuring an elegant, minimalist look.

Leaked photos show the TechWoven case coming in five colors: black, blue, brown, green, and purple. The product is still compatible with MagSafe magnetic charging, while the anti-slip texture increases grip, reducing the risk of falling.

According to 9to5Mac , TechWoven's new material could be based on rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), a fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.

This material helps reduce dependence on virgin plastic, reduces carbon emissions compared to polyester, in line with Apple's 2030 environmental goals.

Majin Bu also revealed a new strap accessory for the iPhone 17. Temporarily called the Crossbody Strap, the product helps wear the iPhone around the neck or hand, increasing fashion or preventing falling when holding the phone.

According to Bu, all iPhone 17 cases (including silicone and TechWoven cases) will have a lanyard hole underneath, secured by magnets.

The entire body of the wire has a metal core to stick together, while a magnetic mechanism makes it easier to attach/detach the wire. Apple is expected to use a similar strap system for the AirPods Pro 3.

Rumors suggest the band will be made from a woven nylon material, similar to the Apple Watch Sport Loop Band, which is notable for its lightness and breathability. However, Apple may introduce a silicone version, which will feel softer and more elastic.

In May, The Information predicted that Apple would launch a separate battery case for the iPhone 17 Air. This move comes from the fact that Apple had to “sacrifice” battery capacity to achieve thinness (5.5 mm according to rumors).

“During internal testing, Apple determined that the percentage of users who can use the iPhone 17 Air all day without needing to charge is around 60-70%. For other iPhone models, that number reaches 80-90%,” the news site said.

Apple introduced the Smart Battery Case on the iPhone 11 series, followed by the MagSafe Battery Pack for the iPhone 12 and later. This product was discontinued after the iPhone switched from Lightning to USB-C.

Finally, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman revealed that Apple “considered/tested” a new case for the iPhone 17 Air. Instead of covering the entire back, this case only protects the frame, similar to the Bumper line for the iPhone 4.

In theory, the case helps to show off the iPhone 17 Air's ultra-slim design and glossy back while still providing some protection. However, details about this accessory are still quite scarce.
