At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha proposed that the Government consider and submit to the National Assembly a Resolution on a number of specific mechanisms and policies for Dong Nai, similar to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho.

From July 1, 2025, Dong Nai will have an area of over 12,700km2, a population of over 4.49 million people, an economic scale of over 609,000 billion VND (ranked 4th in the country), playing an important role in the Southern key economic region.

In the first 6 months of 2025, Dong Nai recorded a GRDP increase of 8.23%, higher than the national average growth rate (7.52%), in which the industrial - construction and service sectors increased by nearly 9%, total social investment capital was more than 64,000 billion VND...

However, Dong Nai is facing a major challenge in balancing the budget as the budget allocation for 2025 is still low. Having to shoulder many policies from the Central Government and the Provincial People's Council makes the local budget constantly tense.

Therefore, the province recommends soon having a specific financial mechanism to be more proactive in investment development and ensuring social security.
