On the afternoon of July 13, a landslide occurred at Km19+500, passing through village 10 Thong Nhat, Phuoc Son commune, Dong Nai province, causing rocks, soil, and crops to slide about 30m onto the DT.755B road.
Many roads were completely blocked by large amounts of mud and trees, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.

Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Phuoc Son commune urgently activated an emergency response plan.
The commune authorities and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue mobilized human resources, machinery and coordinated with local people to handle the scene and clear traffic congestion.
By the morning of July 15, the repair work was basically completed. Rocks, soil, and trees were cleared, warning signs were erected at dangerous locations, and traffic through the area was resumed smoothly and safely.

According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Cong, Chairman of Phuoc Son Commune People's Committee, this is not the first time landslides have occurred in the 5 Cay slope area.
"Almost every year, especially during the rainy and stormy season, this road section records serious landslides. Although many locations have been handled, there are still many locations with a very high risk of landslides, constantly threatening people's lives and traffic safety," Mr. Tran Ngoc Cong emphasized.
DT.755B is a vital route with a large daily traffic volume, connecting Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces. Any incident occurring at 5 Cay slope has the potential to cause great damage to people and property.

Phuoc Son commune authorities are currently stepping up propaganda and warning people to proactively respond to heavy rain and landslides; at the same time, they are requesting provincial departments and branches to soon have fundamental and sustainable solutions to reinforce areas at high risk of landslides in this area.
Investing in a system of slopes, retaining walls, rock cages and specialized technical measures is urgent to prevent the risk of landslides from recurring and ensure safety for thousands of vehicles traveling through the route every day.
People, especially truck and bus drivers who regularly travel on this route, need to proactively monitor weather warning information, reduce speed and absolutely not pass through the area when there is prolonged heavy rain.
