From October 17-21, the Vietnamese women's tennis team will participate in the Billie Jean King Cup Group 3 women's team tournament, Asia- Pacific region, in Bahrain.

The Billie Jean King Cup is the world women's tennis tournament (formerly known as the Fed Cup), similar in nature to the Davis Cup for men.
On this trip to Bahrain, head coach Truong Quoc Bao did not bring his key player Savanna Ly Nguyen. Replacing Savanna Ly Nguyen is the promising 17-year-old player Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi (Hung Thinh Ho Chi Minh City). In addition, the team has the presence of players Si Boi Ngoc (Army) and Pham Diem Quynh (Binh Duong).
Billie Jean King Cup 2023 Group 3, Asia-Pacific region will have 14 participating countries and territories including Vietnam (ranked 88th in the world), Iran (ranked 85th), Tajikistan (94th), Laos (99th), Brunei (102nd), Maldives (106th), Bhutan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Macau (China), Nepal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and host country Bahrain (these are unranked teams).
These 14 teams are divided into 4 groups (groups A and B each have 3 teams, while groups C and D each have 4 teams). The Vietnamese women's tennis team is in the top seed group, along with Iran, Tajikistan and Laos.
Iran will be the number one seed in Group A, Vietnam will be the number one seed in Group B, Tajikistan will be the number one seed in Group C and Laos will be the number one seed in Group D. Our remaining opponents in Group B will be determined after the draw ceremony on October 17.
The top teams in each group will have play-off matches to compete for 2 direct spots to Group 2 of the Asia-Pacific region in 2024. Meanwhile, the remaining positions of the groups will compete with each other to determine Group 3 of the Asia-Pacific region.
The matches of Billie Jean King Cup 2023 will be played in a best of 3 format, including 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match. The team that wins 2 matches in each match will win the match.
