Vietnam futsal team beat Brunei 14-0

The Vietnamese futsal team will face Brunei in the third round of the 2024 Southeast Asian futsal tournament. The 2-0 victory over Malaysia has given coach Diego Giustozzi and his team a lot more confidence. They need one more victory to secure their place in the next round.

After the opening whistle, the Vietnamese futsal team rushed to the opponent's field and continuously attacked. The results soon came to the team that was rated higher. In the 2nd minute, Tran Thai Huy finished accurately at close range, opening the score for the Vietnamese team. Continuing the excitement, Thai Huy doubled the gap in less than 1 minute. The Brunei goalkeeper could not withstand Ala's powerful shots.

After that, the Vietnamese futsal team had at least 4 dangerous chances but could not score any more goals. It was not until the 11th minute that Doan Phat raised the score to 3-0 and Thai Huy continued to leave his mark with a favorable pass. The Brunei team played with great effort in the first half. They could not attack but tried to defend tightly and did not concede any more goals before the break.

Entering the second half, the Vietnamese team once again increased the speed of the match, Brunei could not keep up with Duc Hoa and his teammates. In the first 3 minutes, Nhat Trung and Manh Dung scored consecutively to raise the score to 5-0. In the 26th minute, captain Pham Duc Hoa himself fired a powerful shot to raise the score to 6-0.

The big difference in score made Brunei lose morale and physical strength, causing the team to gradually lose control of their home field.

In just the last 12 minutes of the match, the Vietnamese futsal team scored 8 more goals, including a hat-trick by Huynh Mi Woen. This star had a very beautiful direct free kick. Young players like Ngoc Anh and Da Hai also added their names to the scoreboard.

The convincing 14-0 victory helped the Vietnamese futsal team temporarily take the lead in the group. If Thailand defeats Malaysia, the Vietnamese futsal team will qualify for the group stage.
