Novak Djokovic overcame the challenge of Taylor Fritz at the US Open to continue his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam title. The Serbian took full advantage of his American opponent's missed opportunities to claim the win.
The 38-year-old Serbian, a four-time New York champion, defeated last year's runner-up 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. The win extended Djokovic's perfect head-to-head record against Fritz to 11-0. By reaching the semi-finals, Djokovic equaled Jimmy Connors' record of 14 US Open semi-final appearances.

After some unconvincing performances in the early rounds and multiple medical visits, Djokovic has been back to his best form over the past two weeks. He will face Carlos Alcaraz in a highly anticipated semifinal. Djokovic currently leads Alcaraz 5-3 in the head-to-head series, including his last two wins. The match on September 5 will be the first time the two players have met at Flushing Meadows.
