19-year-old patient receives 1.16 billion VND from health insurance fund for treatment of serious illness

At the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the delegation presented two gifts to patient Nguyen Hoang Uyen, 8 years old, from Lang Son and patient Le Sy Duc Phat, 19 years old, from Thanh Hoa. Both patients are seriously ill, have difficult economic circumstances, and have large expenses covered by the Health Insurance Fund.

Baby Nguyen Hoang Uyen has just had a stem cell transplant, and the health insurance will pay 388 million VND for the first 6 months of 2024. Patient Le Sy Duc Phat will be paid 304 billion VND by health insurance in 2023, and 1.16 billion VND for the first 6 months of 2024.

At the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, the delegation presented two gifts to patient Nguyen Thanh Canh, 72 years old, in Hanoi and patient Phung Van Thuong, 74 years old, in Hanoi. Both patients are elderly and seriously ill.

Visiting patients in the departments, General Director Nguyen The Manh encouraged patients about their health status, treatment process, and health insurance participation process; at the same time, informed patients about the great benefits and advantages of the health insurance policy.

Over the years, hospitals and social insurance agencies have always coordinated well in organizing and implementing health insurance services, with the ultimate goal of satisfying and benefiting participants.

In the coming time, General Director Nguyen The Manh requested units to promote tradition, focus resources, and strengthen coordination with the Social Insurance agency to better implement health insurance treatment work.

On June 16, 2009, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 823/QD-TTg to designate July 1 every year as Vietnam Health Insurance Day. This event demonstrates the will and determination of the Party, State and Government in implementing the goal of universal health insurance, creating conditions for all people to receive health care through the health insurance policy.

The annual Vietnam Health Insurance Day is an opportunity to promote propaganda and mobilize people to join hands and contribute to the effective implementation of the Health Insurance Law with a roadmap to implement universal health insurance, for the health of themselves, their families and the community, and for national security.
