Vietnamese athletics still has a chance to attend the Paris Olympics

The achievement of 3 minutes 30 seconds 81 was also very impressive, surpassing the bronze medal of the 19th ASIAD (3 minutes 30 seconds 88) of the Sri Lankan team, and also surpassing the national record (3 minutes 31 seconds 46). With this achievement, the Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team rose 2 places, from 29th to 27th in the world . However, to win tickets to the Paris Olympics, Quach Thi Lan and her teammates must surpass the achievements of the 2 teams ranked 15th and 16th in the world, Cuba (3 minutes 26 seconds 08) and Nigeria (3 minutes 27 seconds 29).

Vietnam women's 4x400m relay team strives to win tickets to the 2024 Olympics

The team's biggest goal is to officially qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is a very difficult goal because the opponents' achievements are more outstanding, but the Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team is still determined to conquer it.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation and in charge of the athletics department of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, said that according to the plan, the Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team will have 2 more tournaments to hunt for official tickets to attend the Paris Olympics: the Taiwan Open Athletics Tournament (from May 30 to June 3) and the Thailand Open Tournament (June 14 to 17). Currently, 14/16 teams have been determined to win tickets to attend the Paris Olympics in the women's 4x400m event. The remaining 2 tickets will be finalized on June 30. If they do not win official tickets, Vietnamese athletics will have 1 special ticket to attend the Paris Olympics. Speed queen Tran Thi Nhi Yen is likely to be given the opportunity if Vietnamese athletics participates with a special ticket in the women's 100m event.
