The University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam and the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. Notably, there is information on the minimum admission scores for these two methods for the school's majors this year.
Expected minimum score for the competency assessment test is 700.
With the admission method based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University, the University of Information Technology only considers candidates with exam results in 2025. The admission threshold (admission floor score) is expected to be 700/1,200 points for all majors.
Admission score = Aptitude test score + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (if any)
Admission scores are calculated on a scale of 1,200 points, with a maximum score of 1,200 points and a maximum bonus score of 120 points for each candidate.
In particular, bonus points are given to candidates with valid international language certificates (TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, JLPT) (as of the time of submitting the certificate). Priority points are given to subjects and regions according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Minimum score for high school graduation exam: 22.5-24 points
With the admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the University of Information Technology only considers candidates with the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam and meets the threshold conditions to ensure input quality.
The admission threshold for the microchip design major is calculated based on the total score of all subjects in the admission group reaching a minimum of 24 points, of which the math subject reaches a minimum of 8 points.
For all remaining majors, the expected minimum admission score is the total score of all subjects in the admission combination reaching at least 22.5 points.
Admission score = High school graduation exam score of admission subject combination + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (if any)
Admission scores are calculated on a 30-point scale, with a maximum score of 30 points and a maximum bonus score of 3 points for each candidate.
In particular, bonus points are given to candidates with valid international language certificates (TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, JLPT) (as of the time of submitting the certificate). Priority points are given to subjects and regions according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
International language certificates (TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, JLPT) are added points in both admission methods according to the regulations of the University of Information Technology as shown in the following table:
Note on admission registration
University of Information Technology reminds candidates about the 2-step registration process for admission to the school in 2025.
Step 1: Candidates register information, update foreign language certificates that meet the conditions for extra points (required for candidates with international foreign language certificates that meet the conditions for extra points when considering admission) on the school's information page until 5:00 p.m. on July 28. After successful registration, candidates are required to send a copy of the international foreign language certificate to the school by express delivery.
Step 2, register your official wishes on the website https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn of the Ministry of Education and Training from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28.
Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Principal of the school, said that after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the high school graduation exam, the school would analyze the exam score distribution and officially announce the minimum admission scores for the two admission methods. However, according to Mr. Khang, the school's admission combinations all include math, while this year's math test was assessed as relatively difficult. Therefore, it is predicted that the school's benchmark scores for majors may decrease slightly or remain the same compared to 2024.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology will use the following admission methods: direct admission and priority admission, considering the scores of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, and considering the scores of the 2025 high school graduation exam. Currently, the school has announced the 2025 admission results with the direct admission method according to the regulations of the University Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
