8 resettlement areas serving nearly 900 households
According to the Lam Dong Department of Construction, the North-South high-speed railway line through the area has 2 stations (Phan Ri - Bac Binh, Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan ), 4 maintenance stations and an expected clearance area of over 936 hectares. This is a key national infrastructure project, of strategic significance in connecting regions, restructuring the transport system and reducing pressure on roads.
To serve the project, the province is urgently implementing 8 resettlement areas in the communes and wards: Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Luong Son, Ham Liem, Hong Son, Tan Lap, Ham Kiem and Binh Thuan ward. The total area of these areas is nearly 28 hectares, with nearly 900 plots planned, with a total investment of more than 420 billion VND.
Of which, there are 6 resettlement areas with land origin managed by households that must be cleared in Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Luong Son, Hong Son, Tan Lap communes and Binh Thuan ward with a total area of 19.61 ha. There are 76 households, 4 organizations (6 houses and 1 brick kiln) that must be relocated to arrange 594 resettlement lots. The remaining 2 resettlement areas in Ham Kiem and Ham Liem communes are built on land managed by the State with a total area of 8.31 ha, arranging 295 lots.
Currently, 5/8 resettlement areas have to adjust their locations, which are not in accordance with the original planning. According to the People's Committee of Hong Son Commune, the resettlement project in the commune covers an area of 4.94 hectares, with an investment capital of 79 billion VND, and 200 lots are arranged to meet the relocation needs, with 20 households affected.
Up to now, the local government has determined the boundaries of the land, completed the topographic survey, measured and mapped each plot of land and established a compensation, support and resettlement council. At the same time, it has stepped up propaganda and mobilization to help people understand the information, creating consensus and unity in the process of site clearance.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction affirmed: Building resettlement areas is not only about building new houses, but also an opportunity to form a civilized residential area, synchronous infrastructure, sustainable living environment, helping people settle down, stabilize their lives and feel secure in economic development.
Determined to ensure progress
Recently, in Dan Binh village (Ham Kiem commune), the first resettlement area serving the project was officially started. The project has an area of 3.5 hectares, total capital of 45 billion VND, expected to arrange 129 lots for 516 people. According to the plan, the remaining 7 resettlement areas will simultaneously start construction on November 1, 2025 and be completed in June 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Nguyen, representative of the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2, the High-speed Railway project is not only a step forward in transportation technology, but also a driving force for socio-economic development, regional connectivity, and improving the quality of life of the people. The implementation of the resettlement area today demonstrates the strong commitment of the Provincial People's Committee to accompany the Government and the People for a sustainable development future.
During a recent inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested communes where the project passes through to closely coordinate with relevant departments and agencies, promptly establish a Compensation Council and a Land Valuation Council, speed up site clearance, both ensuring the progress of the national project and stabilizing people's lives. At the same time, he noted that localities need to strictly manage land funds, prevent illegal construction in resettlement areas, and avoid complications arising in the process of compensation and site clearance.
