Lam Dong: Temporarily detaining the leader of a gambling organization after 4 months on the run

On August 28, Lam Dong Provincial Police announced that they had temporarily detained Trinh Thanh Hai (born in 1990, also known as Ti Ha), residing in village 13, Da Huoai commune (Lam Dong) to investigate the act of "Organizing gambling" after more than 4 months on the run.

Trinh Thanh Hai is the mastermind, leader, organizer of a large-scale gambling and cockfighting casino in the bamboo forest in village 4, Da Huoai 2 commune, seriously affecting the security and order situation in the locality. The subjects participating in the casino have complicated personal backgrounds, coming from many provinces and cities such as Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Hanoi ... Among them, many subjects have criminal records for gambling and property theft.

Previously, on April 13, 2025, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Province coordinated with professional units to catch red-handed and destroy the casino organized by Hai, temporarily detaining 36 subjects, more than 800 million VND in cash, 45 cars, motorbikes, 35 mobile phones and many other assets, documents, and objects that are tools and means for gambling.

On April 16, 2025, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Province issued a decision to prosecute the case of "Organizing gambling and gambling". From April 22, 2025 to July 27, 2025, 18 subjects were prosecuted for the act of "Gambling".

Immediately after the casino was destroyed, Trinh Thanh Hai and a number of other subjects fled the area. The Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Province organized a force to arrest him. Using professional measures, on August 21, 2025, the police force successfully arrested Trinh Thanh Hai.

The case is currently being further investigated by the Office of the Criminal Police Department of Lam Dong Province. The police agency requests that the relevant subjects quickly surrender to enjoy leniency under the law.
