Crow's beak digging in season
In July, the domestic fruit market became more vibrant when the crow's beak peach appeared. This fruit has a fragrant, sweet and crunchy taste, so it is chosen by many people. The crow's beak peach is named after its characteristic shape, which has a curved tail that resembles a crow's beak. The peach's skin is hairy and has a light pink-green color. When ripe, the crow's beak peach gives off a mild aroma, and the flesh is crispy and sweet.

According to traders, this fruit is mainly grown in the northern mountainous provinces such as Son La, Lao Cai, etc. Currently, most of the peaches sold on the market are still imported from China. Ms. Nguyen Hang, a trader at Ha Dong market, said: "Although it is just the beginning of the season, crow's beak peaches are sought after by many people. As soon as the imported goods arrive, they are sold out."
According to her, early season peaches are not very sweet. In the main season, ripe fruit is crispy, sweet and cheaper. Currently, the average price of early season peaches is from 35,000 - 70,000 VND/kg. With large quantities, the price can be cheaper. The price of a 10kg box of small fruit is 150,000 VND, and a box of large fruit is 220,000 VND.
"Compared to last year, this year's prices are cheaper, making many consumers more willing to spend. This is also the time when peaches are in season, so people can easily choose, but they also need to buy at reputable stores" - Ms. Hang shared.
Be careful with "Sapa crow mine" with fake labels
Although crow's beak peaches labeled "Sapa" are widely advertised, according to experienced traders, most of the goods on the market are Chinese peaches. Ms. NV - a trader said: "Chinese goods have beautiful appearance, large, even fruit, smooth skin and few hairs, sweet to eat but not crispy, fragrant and not sour like Vietnamese goods. To buy goods with guaranteed quality, people should find a reputable address with a clear origin to place their trust.

Vietnamese peaches, especially Sapa peaches, are usually small in size, slightly distorted in shape, hairy, rough skin, the tail of the fruit is pointed and curved like a crow's beak. The typical flavor is fragrant, crunchy, slightly sour, the fruit flesh is white to yellow and the seeds are tightly attached to the flesh, difficult to separate. Chinese peaches have a beautiful appearance, smooth skin, little or no hair and are large and even in size.
