Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly states that one of the seven tasks and solutions is to "promote international integration in culture, society, education and training...".
Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW also clearly stated “encouraging and attracting foreign students to study in Vietnam… enhancing the promotion of Vietnamese language and culture abroad”. This is a strategic direction for highereducation institutions, including Danang University, which has focused on and implemented well in recent times.
Strengthening “two-way” student exchanges
Promoting potential and strengths with a network of more than 250 international partners around the world , international cooperation activities in general and international student exchange in particular of Danang University are increasingly thriving.
Recently, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), Danang University continuously sent student delegations to study, exchange research and experience culture and language at universities in Thailand.
08 VKU students were selected to attend the International Leadership Camp (Leadership Camp - 2025) at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) with the theme "Technopreneur Skills for Global Innovators".
This program is held annually, attracting hundreds of students from universities in the Asia-Pacific region, inspiring students towards global youth innovation and entrepreneurship.
Nine other VKU students were also sent to exchange international academic internships at KMUTNB for a period of 2 months. These are students majoring in Information Technology (English-Vietnamese bilingual program, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) with outstanding academic results, good English proficiency and passion for scientific research.
Through activities and research projects applying AI, machine learning methods, deep learning to optimize urban transport systems, environmental protection, etc., VKU students have many useful opportunities to experience "real-life" in academia, teamwork, learning, and comprehensive development with professors, experts, and international students.
According to Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho - Vice President of VKU, to carry out these activities, VKU has proactively used funding from the Cooperation Project funded by the Korean Government for the period 2022-2027 to support the cost of round-trip airfare, insurance, visa fees and living expenses. The partner school KMUTNB sponsors VKU students for all living expenses, accommodation, transportation, and allowances (10,000 THB/month) during the internship period.
In the opposite direction, the University of Education, Danang University has just held the closing ceremony of the International Student Exchange Training Program (3+1) with Guizhou Nationalities University, China. This is a program within the framework of cooperation between the University of Education, Danang University and Guizhou Nationalities University. This is also the second year the school has received 27 international students from the other school to study and exchange students.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Principal of the University of Education, Danang University, during about 1 year of studying at the school, international students of Guizhou Nationalities University participated in and successfully completed 11 courses (22 credits) on Vietnamese language, history, culture and geography. In addition, the school created many opportunities for international students to explore Vietnamese culture and language at local scenic spots, traditional craft villages, and world heritages such as: Ngu Hanh Son, Thanh Ha Pottery Village, Kim Bong Carpentry Village, Hoi An, etc.
Students from Guizhou Nationalities University were very interested in experiencing the Vietnamese Lunar New Year and Laos' Bunpimay Festival, especially participating in international exchanges at the First Central Region Vietnamese Speaking Contest for Foreigners hosted by the University of Education, University of Danang. "This is an opportunity to contribute to building a bridge of friendship and beneficial educational cooperation," said international student Giai Le from Guizhou Nationalities University.
Create a launching pad to reach international level
From international student exchange activities and the knowledge, skills, foreign languages, and digital technology platforms equipped and cultivated in the classroom, more and more students of Danang University apply for and receive prestigious international scholarships.
A typical example is student Phi Hanh Nguyen (class 21SPA02, Faculty of Foreign Language Education), University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang, who has just excellently received a full scholarship (worth 60,000 pounds) from Oxford University (UK) to study a Master's program.
Student Phi Hanh Nguyen shared that to reach the prestigious Oxford lecture hall, she has always been proactive in studying and scientific research (average GPA 3.9/4.0, First Prize in the School-level Student Scientific Research Conference), and at the same time accumulated the luggage and capacity for international integration right from the first year. For example, she actively participated as a volunteer at the 2024 Southeast Asian Student Sports Congress in Da Nang, summer student volunteer campaigns, was a student representative to participate in the School Council, achieved the title of "5 Good Students at the Central level", and was honored to be admitted to the Party.
Similarly, student Le Kha Tuyet Phuong (Faculty of International Business), University of Economics, University of Danang also received good news when she received 2 full scholarships: 1 Scholarship from the Danish Government and 1 Scholarship from the University of Trento (Italy). Student Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan (majoring in Data Science), Vietnam - UK Research and Training Institute, University of Danang excellently received 2 prestigious European scholarships: Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and Eiffel Excellence Scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long - Rector of the University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang shared that from the results of sustainable international cooperation with schools in the region and the world, students are able to develop their expertise and broaden their horizons in a multicultural academic environment. This is a solid launching pad for them to access and achieve international scholarships in advanced educational systems, thereby contributing back to the country's education, culture and science.
At the Conference on strengthening international student exchange of Danang University at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the policy of strengthening connections, improving the effectiveness of substantive and sustainable international cooperation, focusing on student exchange in both directions has created high unity, synchronization, determination and effectiveness in implementation at member universities, training units and affiliated units.
