Da Nang: Strictly punish traders who unreasonably increase prices at the end of the year

DNVN - Implementing Official Dispatch 03/CD-BTC of the Ministry of Finance , the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested to promote and strengthen price management and operation measures in the remaining months of 2024.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to proactively monitor the supply and demand developments, market situation, especially essential goods (food, foodstuffs, etc.) during times of high market demand (Holidays, Tet, storms, base salary increase, etc.).

Da Nang City People's Committee requested to closely inspect and monitor the commodity market in the last months of 2024 at the markets.

Promptly urge production, supply, and distribution units, shopping centers, supermarkets, convenience store chains, and markets in the area to proactively plan to reserve goods and prepare sources of goods to ensure adequate supply to the market, avoiding cases of shortages, hoarding, speculation, and unreasonable price increases.

At the same time, direct the Danang Market Management and Development Company to strengthen monitoring of price developments and market stabilization at markets under its management; propagate and mobilize traders at affiliated markets to increase reserves of essential goods, food and foodstuffs.

Strengthen monitoring of price declaration, coordinate with agencies and units to supervise the implementation of price posting, and publicize price information of organizations and individuals producing and trading goods and services in assigned fields.

In particular, monitor and supervise goods at the market, coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, promptly detect and strictly handle cases of traders speculating, hoarding goods or taking advantage of natural disasters to unreasonably raise prices in the last months of 2024.

Along with that, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the City Market Management Department to strengthen market inspection and control, monitor compliance with the law on prices; price posting, price declaration and selling at listed prices of goods and services in the city.

Special attention should be paid to goods that serve the production and consumption needs of the people before, during and after the rainy and stormy season. Resolutely and strictly handle cases of taking advantage of market fluctuations to unreasonably increase prices of goods and services.

The Da Nang City People's Committee also requested the City Police to coordinate in the fight against smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud; combat revenue loss and tax fraud; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of price management regulations for important supplies and essential goods related to production and people's lives.

Strictly and thoroughly implement the prevention and combat of trade fraud and transfer pricing. Conduct investigations and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of scarcity, speculation and price increases, acts of taking advantage of emergency situations, incidents, disasters, natural disasters, and epidemics to unreasonably increase the selling prices of goods and services for personal gain in accordance with the provisions of law.
