According to information published by Fortune (the world's prestigious economic magazine) on June 17, Vietnam has 76 enterprises in the ranking of the 500 largest companies in Southeast Asia in 2025. The companies are selected based on revenue and net profit in the 2024 fiscal year.
With revenue in fiscal year 2024 reaching VND 21,045 billion and profit after tax of VND 310 billion, Coteccons is on this prestigious ranking for the second consecutive time.
Coteccons maintains its leading position in the private construction industry in Vietnam and continues to expand its influence in Southeast Asia.
Strong transformation
Over the past two years, Coteccons has affirmed its position by being honored twice by the Fortune Southeast Asia 500. The first year, the company ranked 376th and this year it has climbed 72 places to 304th.
This level of promotion has demonstrated Coteccons' spectacular transformation in the face of external difficulties and challenges.
Not only is it a financial result, the promotion in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking is also a sign of Coteccons' maturity and comprehensive transformation. After a large-scale restructuring 4 years ago, the company has repositioned its development strategy, placing people at the center and safety as the foundation, aiming to become a leading enterprise in the construction industry.
Coteccons is among the 500 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia for the second consecutive time.
Financial indicators for 2024 show that Coteccons is on the path to a solid recovery. Revenue increased by more than 30% compared to 2023, reaching 105% of the plan. In the first 9 months of fiscal year 2025, consolidated revenue reached more than VND 16,647 billion, gross profit reached VND 559 billion, both increased compared to the same period. The total value of unrealized contracts (backlog) reached VND 37,000 billion, the highest level ever for the enterprise.
The company's asset size as of the third quarter of 2025 will reach 26,182 (billion VND), and the P/E (earnings per share) ratio in 2024 will reach 19.58. This is a high level in the context of the construction industry facing many challenges.
In addition, Coteccons shares (code: CTD) have been included in the VNDiamond index basket by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, reflecting the prestige and attractiveness of the enterprise in the capital market. Improving governance transparency, increasing liquidity and sustainable listing are the results of a comprehensive innovation process.
Improvements in corporate governance, financial transparency, increased liquidity and sustainable listing show that Coteccons has not only overcome difficult times, but also re-established its position as an influential leading enterprise in the Southeast Asian region.
Enterprises strive to lead, pioneering responsibility
Vietnam’s construction industry, one of the largest consumers of resources and a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, is facing increasing pressure to achieve sustainable development. However, the level of ESG commitment and implementation by contractors remains limited and varies significantly between businesses.
The environmental aspect of ESG is considered the biggest challenge for the Vietnamese construction industry, especially contractors. Because construction is one of the industries with the largest greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption. According to the inventory data of the Ministry of Construction , the construction materials production sector alone emitted up to 101.89 million tons of CO2 equivalent in 2022, nearly double that of 2014.
In that context, Coteccons' strong development is also accompanied by a long-term commitment to sustainable development. As one of the pioneers in ESG practices in the Vietnamese construction industry, Coteccons has applied the GRI standards and the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations to all operations, from construction, material selection to building a partner ecosystem.
Coteccons' vision does not stop at increasing market share or business efficiency.
The company currently owns 46 green certified projects (LEED, LOTUS), the highest in the industry, and is connected with 57 green partners and suppliers, promoting the circular economy model in construction. With the 3R principle (Reduce - Reuse - Recycle), Fast-track construction technology and Green Procurement programs, Coteccons is contributing to shaping new standards for the modern construction industry in Vietnam.
Bridge to attract high quality FDI
In the context of Vietnam promoting the implementation of Resolution 68-NQ/TW on developing the private economy into an important driving force of the economy, the role of linkage between domestic enterprises and foreign investors is further emphasized.
At the Dialogue with the business community on the morning of May 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that private enterprises share, help, cooperate, and connect more closely and effectively with each other, with FDI enterprises, and with state-owned enterprises to create a broader supply chain, production chain, and service chain, nationwide and globally.
These strategic orientations are being realized step by step through the integration efforts of domestic enterprises, including Coteccons - a private construction contractor that has participated in many large projects of FDI corporations such as LEGO, Pandora in Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Long An... With experience in construction according to international standards and commitment to strictly implementing ESG criteria, Coteccons is expected to be one of the reliable "bridges" between global investors and the Vietnamese market.
Commenting on this trend, Mr. Clay Chandler - Executive Editor of Fortune Asia - said: "Southeast Asia is emerging as the world's new manufacturing and export center. The global FDI shift trend is creating many opportunities for the region, especially for businesses that are transparent and have the capacity to implement ESG".
LEGO Vietnam factory in Binh Duong was built by Coteccons according to LEED Platinum standards.
In that context, Coteccons being honored in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 for two consecutive years is not only a recognition of the company's achievements, but also a reflection of the ability of Vietnamese private enterprises to participate in the global value chain. The company not only meets the requirements of the international market, but also proactively creates an ecosystem connecting partners, subcontractors, engineers and workers, aiming to develop the construction industry in a sustainable and responsible manner.
"No business can elevate the industry alone," said Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coteccons. "Coteccons aims to become a catalyst - connecting and spreading - to work with partners to build a more decent, efficient and sustainable construction ecosystem."
The fact that private enterprises like Coteccons proactively reach out to international markets and deeply connect with the FDI chain is not only a single success, but also a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the Government's policies and guidelines - putting the private sector at the center of the strategy for rapid, sustainable economic development and deep integration.
Coteccons has been implementing many large-scale projects, making its mark in many fields including:
- Industrial parks: LEGO Factory and Pandora Factory (Binh Duong), Suntory PepsiCo Factory (Long An), VinFast Automobile Manufacturing Complex (Hai Phong), Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex of Hoa Phat Group (Quang Ngai)...
- Commercial: The Landmark 81 (HCMC), Diamond Crown Hai Phong (Hai Phong), The Grand Ho Tram (Vung Tau), Casino Nam Hoi An (Quang Nam)...
