According to a VNA correspondent in Seoul, immediately after receiving the relevant information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea to urgently monitor developments and contact local authorities and Vietnamese associations/groups in Korea to grasp the situation of citizens living, studying and working there. At the same time, the Embassy also closely coordinated with the Vietnamese community, advising citizens to comply with regulations and instructions of local authorities, avoid large gatherings and keep in touch with the Vietnamese Embassy. So far, the Vietnamese community in Korea is living, studying and working normally. The Vietnamese Embassy in Korea continues to closely monitor the situation and is ready to take citizen protection measures if necessary.
Previously, on December 4, the Korean Foreign Ministry sent a notice to diplomatic missions in Seoul sharing the concerns of countries regarding recent developments in Korea, but affirmed that the democratic process and public order are still being ensured. The notice of the Korean Foreign Ministry stated that despite what has happened, world-famous credit rating companies including Standard & Poor's (S&P) still maintain the current credit rating of Korea. The Ministry assessed that Korea's institutional foundation is solid, all economic indicators are reasonable and strong, and the security situation in Korea is also stable. The agency suggested that countries do not need to issue high-level reactions such as travel advisories.
