Specifically, at 3:00 p.m. on July 7, 2025, through inspection, it was discovered that the landslide arc on the river side was about 65m long, about 6-10m wide, and the landslide arc was deep into the dike surface. On the morning of July 8, 2025, the landslide arc developed further, sliding a 65m long section deep into the middle of the dike surface about 3m, the height difference from the top of the landslide arc to the foot of the landslide arc was about 12-15m.
Decision to declare an emergency. |
Checking the upstream and downstream of the landslide, many longitudinal cracks appeared about 50cm from the edge of the dike (total length of cracks appeared about 200m, 150m upstream of the landslide, 50m downstream of the landslide). The cracks show signs of continuing to develop, with the risk of widespread landslides, directly threatening the safety of the dike.
By the morning of July 8, 2025, the landslides continued to develop in both length and width, with landslides reaching the middle of the dike surface, and the landslides developing along a dike section about 250m long, directly threatening the safety of the dike, so it is urgent to immediately implement solutions to ensure dike safety (the dike is about 300m from the main Ta Thuong dike).
Urgent measures need to be applied immediately to respond and overcome the consequences in order to prevent and minimize damage caused by natural disasters or construction incidents. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is fully responsible for the results of the inspection, review, and proposal to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to announce an emergency situation to handle the above incident in accordance with the provisions of law.
