DANANG J-SEIYU 2025 is a film dubbing competition organized by the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang. The 10 best teams from universities in Danang and educational institutions in the Central and Central Highlands regions such as: Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Duy Tan University, FPT University, University of Foreign Languages - University of Danang, ... were selected for the Final Round, taking place on June 2, 2025.

The "playground" of dubbing Japanese animations and TV series J-SEIYU 2025 has become a source of inspiration, bringing joy to students. Through each round, the teams have excellently demonstrated their outstanding Japanese language skills, along with emotional, highly technical dubbing performances with distinct personalities. The competition is not only an opportunity for students to improve their language practice skills but also helps them accumulate a lot of practical experience, contributing positively to the development of the Japanese learning and speaking community in the Central Highlands region.

Choosing the climax excerpt from the famous anime " Demon Slayer: Brothel Town ", the Never Give Up team, consisting of 5 students:

  • Diep The Khai,
  • Nguyen Thi Linh,
  • Cao Gia Huy,
  • Dang An Hoa

majoring in Japanese Translation and Interpretation and:

  • Tran Quoc Truong, major in Business Japanese

has taken on the challenge of dubbing that requires a high level of technical and emotional rigor. This is the highlight of the "hit" anime series revolving around the breathtaking battle between the Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps and the two Upper Moon Six - Daki and Gyoutaro. Fast-paced, intense emotions, dense dialogue and a cast of characters with completely opposite personalities make the film a challenging "test" for any dubbing team.

The 5 members of the group Never Give Up completely transformed into each character, breathing "soul" into each line, thus truly creating a strong impression on the audience. The harmonious coordination, team spirit and outstanding voice-over skills helped the group of students from Duy Tan University completely conquer the judges, excellently surpassing many strong opponents to rise up to win the First Prize in a worthy manner.

Student Diep The Khai - Captain of the Never Give Up team and also the one who took on the two "heaviest" roles in the dubbing excerpt said: " Right from the first practice sessions, we determined that this was an opportunity for the team members to explore their own abilities and at the same time, do what they like. Luckily, the members all share a deep love for the Japanese language and a great passion for the art of dubbing.

In this competition, the most difficult thing is not only to pronounce correctly or express emotions that match the character, but also to make the listener believe that they are the voiced character, knowing how to live and be happy and sad with them in each segment and scene. We also hope that through the Japanese accent, we can convey many emotions in the spirit of the story to the audience. Every day, we balance our time studying at school and group activities to practice, listen, edit, and express the spirit of the excerpt most accurately. It is the team spirit, perseverance and passion for Japanese that have brought us to today's success .

The victory of the Never Give Up team is not the result of a momentary stroke of luck but a worthy achievement from a serious learning and training process of the young people at the School of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS), Duy Tan University. This is a dynamic and modern training environment, where young people who love Japanese are not only equipped with in-depth translation and interpretation knowledge in the major of Japanese Translation and Interpretation, business knowledge in the major of Business Japanese, or multi-skills in the field of Tourism in the major of Tourism Japanese, but are also inspired to learn and seek opportunities for self-development through competitions or extracurricular activities, contributing to spreading the good values of Japanese language and culture. The journey to conquer the competition of the Never Give Up team also had the companionship and support of the lecturers of the Faculty of Japanese, Duy Tan University, who always paid attention to giving detailed comments on pronunciation, intonation and emotional expression when dubbing.

" The greatest luck for us when studying Japanese at Duy Tan University is that the seemingly 'dry' knowledge has become easily 'absorbed' and vivid when we are regularly encouraged to participate in interesting exchange activities such as: Vietnamese - Japanese cultural exchange, learning about Kendo or Tea Ceremony, Japanese Debate Competition, etc. These experiences help us feel that Japanese is no longer a strange language but has become a vibrant part of daily life. In addition, the enthusiastic support from teachers and the connection with friends have given me more motivation and passion to constantly try. I believe that, with valuable opportunities like this, my journey to conquer the language of the 'land of the rising sun' will become more and more solid and meaningful, " shared student Tran Quoc Truong, member of the Never Give Up team, DTU.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes for outstanding voice-overs, specifically:

First Prize : Never Give Up team, Duy Tan University,

Second Prize : Unicorn ni notte team, University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang, and

Third Prize : Smile Warriors team from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted.
