At this moment, the 2025 university and college entrance exam is entering the final stages. Universities and colleges have announced the admission results and determined the number of successful candidates.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Luc, Vice Principal of Hanoi College of Pharmacy, the initial enrollment period has met expectations of creating transparency and fairness among training institutions and enhancing digital transformation in enrollment.
In addition, there are still some difficulties and challenges in the operation, such as increasing the number of virtual filtering times to more than 10 times compared to 6 times as planned. Partly due to the number of candidates registering their wishes has increased sharply compared to previous years (nearly 850 thousand compared to 733 thousand candidates in 2024), especially the record number of registered wishes of more than 7.6 million wishes. With such a huge database, the preparation work must be extremely careful to avoid errors.
With the desire to create favorable and fair conditions for candidates in the process of making their wishes, the Ministry of Education and Training has proactively adjusted the number of virtual filtering times to help training institutions provide appropriate scores that are true to their units' reality. However, these issues also lead to some anxiety among parents and candidates in predicting the admission results.
Explaining this, Mr. Nguyen The Luc gave the following reasons:
Firstly, 2025 is also the first year of applying the 2018 General Education Program, with changes in the training program, exam structure as well as arrangement of the number of subject combinations for admission, so it is difficult to avoid problems in implementation.
Second, the elimination of early admission for universities and pedagogical colleges and the conversion of scores between admission methods caused initial difficulties for training institutions.
Third, the number of candidates registering for admission is much higher than previous years, and this is also the first year that vocational colleges participate in the admission process.
“As the person directly in charge of the virtual filtering work at Hanoi College of Pharmacy, although the school's virtual filtering team approached this form for the first time, they initially encountered difficulties due to being new to it, but thanks to the support of the Ministry of Education and Training, as well as actively participating in training sessions organized by the Ministry, the enrollment work through considering high school exam scores was also completed,” said Mr. Nguyen The Luc.
In general, with the innovative methods in directing and managing enrollment this year, there are many positive signals, bringing fairness to candidates, as well as transparency in enrollment between training institutions. Especially for candidates, the one-time enrollment requires candidates to carefully calculate when choosing their wishes, choosing a major and school that suits their abilities and strengths.
“Although the operation of the management system is inevitably confusing at first, we need to put the interests of candidates first and make every effort for the learners. I believe that the enrollment methods of the Ministry of Education and Training this year will be applied in the coming years,” Mr. Nguyen The Luc emphasized.
