Manufacturing facilities impact the residential environment

According to the reflection of people living in Cu Da village, Hoang Hoa commune and Nguyen Dinh Ngan street, Nguyet Vien ward, right next to the residential area, there is a stone production facility operating day and night. The stone powder dust emitted from the production facility is affecting the daily life of people in the surrounding area. Although the production facility has existed for many years, right next to the residential area, there is no solution to minimize the environmental impact. People have to face dust and noise caused by production activities every day.

A vendor across from the stone production facility said: “My family grows vegetables right next to the stone production facility, but the vegetables cannot grow, and the plants that grow cannot be eaten because of the stone dust. Living nearby for many years is dusty, and breathing in the stone dust is also very worrying.”

Through investigation, it is known that Huu Nghi Company Limited, located in Hoang Duc Commune, old Hoang Hoa District (now Hoang Hoa Commune), was first granted a business registration certificate on July 17, 2003. By March 26, 2025, the enterprise had changed its business registration content for the 14th time. Accordingly, the business lines registered by the enterprise include 24 items, including the production of construction materials, production of cobblestones, gravel, quartzite, quartz; trading of other materials and installation equipment in construction. On the 5,000m2 campus, the company has arranged 3 production workshops, a construction material storage yard and warehouses. During the production process over the years, the company has taken measures to minimize the impact on the surrounding environment, such as regularly watering to reduce dust, investing in an underground wastewater treatment system. However, the measures that the company takes are mainly manual.

Immediately after receiving the feedback from the people, the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa commune inspected the production situation of Huu Nghi Company Limited, determining that the reason for the feedback from the people was that the company was recently implementing a plan to expand its production scale. The company committed to the local government to soon complete the stone dust treatment system and adjust the time frame for dumping materials, minimizing noise during the resting hours of people in the surrounding area.

Vice Chairman of Hoang Hoa Commune People's Committee Le Hong Son said: "The Commune People's Committee has inspected and reminded the company to strictly comply with environmental protection regulations during production and business. Initially, the company has taken a number of measures to remedy the environment, reduce dust and noise. In the coming time, the Commune People's Committee will continue to require the unit to submit monthly environmental impact reports and resolutely not let environmental pollution, especially stone dust and noise, affect people's lives."

In order for the enterprise to fulfill its commitment and soon put the new environmental treatment system into operation, close supervision by the Hoang Hoa commune government is needed.
