Implementing Plan No. 79/KH-SYT dated March 28, 2025 of the Lai Chau Provincial Department of Health on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, the Provincial Social Protection Facility regularly disseminates and propagates to all officials and employees in the unit at meetings and conferences. Thoroughly implement the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and legal documents related to the harmful effects of conventional cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, etc. affecting health, economy and society. Mobilize officials and employees in the unit to be exemplary and voluntarily comply with not smoking in prohibited places; build a smoke-free environment. Mobilize those who still smoke to have a plan to reduce and eventually quit smoking.
After being propagandized, it helped officials, employees and social protection beneficiaries of the Provincial Social Protection Facility to improve their understanding of the harmful effects of tobacco, the use of electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco, shisha, and the benefits of a smoke-free environment. Strictly enforce the provisions of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and other relevant guiding documents.
Currently, the Provincial Social Protection Facility is strictly implementing regulations on smoking-free areas such as: in offices, warehouses, kitchens, dining rooms, office corridors and other locations within the unit's premises. At the same time, it promotes the spirit and responsibility of the head of the agency in the work of propagating, disseminating and thoroughly implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and assigning tasks to individuals and departments responsible for urging, inspecting and handling violations of the law according to the unit's internal rules and regulations regarding the implementation of smoking-free areas.
In the coming time, the Provincial Social Protection Center will continue to direct specialized departments and trade union organizations to implement the Plan to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco; actively propagate and disseminate information about the harmful effects of tobacco, the benefits of a smoke-free environment and legal regulations on preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco. Every year, organize all officials and employees in the unit to sign a commitment not to smoke at work. Implement and handle violations of smoking in agencies, public places, and places where smoking is prohibited. Thereby, contributing to protecting the health of yourself, your family and the community.
