Police investigate case of autistic child suspected of being abused by nanny in Da Nang

Working with the authorities, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hau (owner of Cau Vong facility where the incident occurred) admitted that the incident of the child being affected as shown in the video was true.

According to Ms. Hau, the teacher who abused the child was an intern, and because she did not have much experience, she was under too much pressure and acted inappropriately.

Ms. Hau also said that her facility has been operating for nearly a year now and does not have an operating license. Currently, the number of children studying here is 10.

Informing Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Da Nang, said that the Cau Vong branch belongs to the Institute of Special Education Psychology Research.

This unit is not licensed and managed by the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang, but is organizing activities related to preschool children and students.

"The Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committee of Son Tra district to direct the inspection and clarification of related information," said Ms. Thuan.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on the morning of March 1, a parent's post appeared on social media accusing the autistic child care facility at 83 Ton Quang Phiet Street, Da Nang City of abusing her child.

The parents attached many videos recording the teacher using her hands to impact the child's head, pushing a blanket into the child's mouth...

Ms. Tran Ngoc Gia Hi (residing in Man Thai ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city) confirmed that she was the one who posted the clips and images of her daughter being abused on social media.

According to Ms. Hi, her daughter LTKN (8 years old) has autism, hyperactivity, and language disorder. The family sent her to Cau Vong special education facility.

Recently, seeing that N. had many unusual bruises after coming home from school, the parents sought out the nanny, asked to extract the camera and discovered that their child had been abused.

According to the camera footage, on February 27, N. was repeatedly pulled by the hair and beaten by the nanny. When N. cried, the nanny even covered her face with a blanket and threatened her to stop crying.

It is worth mentioning that a clip recorded the scene where when seeing N. being slapped in the face by a classmate, the nanny standing next to her clapped her hands, patted her head and encouraged the student: "That's right, go ahead and hit him, you're so good."

Ms. Hi said: "Because we knew our child had autism and hyperactivity, our family sent him to a specialized center with a tuition fee of 6 million VND/month. But witnessing our child being abused, my family was very upset and asked for help from the online community and the authorities."
