Congratulating the Ambassador on successfully completing his term of office in Vietnam, the President highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive contributions in promoting, developing and strengthening the Vietnam-Chile Comprehensive Partnership, which is increasingly expanding, continuing to deepen, become practical and effective, especially actively promoting and supporting the successful organization of high-level visits and contacts between the two countries.
Affirming that Vietnam always treasures the good traditional friendship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and late President Salvador Allende, the President affirmed that over the past five decades, the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Chile has been preserved and continuously cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries to develop more firmly and extensively.
Thanking the President for taking the time to receive him, Ambassador Sergio Narea said that during his term, he has made efforts to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of politics -diplomacy, economics-trade, people-to-people exchange, as well as expanding cooperation in agriculture, culture, defense and security.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Chilean people always have special feelings and admiration for Vietnam through its heroic history of national liberation struggle in the past, as well as its current national construction and development. At the same time, Chile will continue to accompany Vietnam in international organizations and multilateral forums to jointly contribute to the development of each country, for peace and stability in the two regions and in the world.

The Ambassador emphasized that after the end of his term, no matter what position he holds, he will continue to contribute his knowledge and feelings to the traditional relationship between the two countries.
Sharing the Ambassador’s opinions, the President expressed his satisfaction with the positive development of Vietnam-Chile relations, especially since the two countries established a Comprehensive Partnership nearly 20 years ago. The two countries continue to share many similar views on international issues, actively supporting and assisting each other in international forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations.
The President said that the political and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile are increasingly close, trustworthy and comprehensively implemented on all channels of the Party, State and people-to-people diplomacy. In the field of trade and economy, Chile has become Vietnam's fourth largest trading partner in Latin America with bilateral turnover increasing steadily at a high level, reaching over 1.7 billion USD in 2024 and Vietnam continues to be Chile's largest trading partner in ASEAN. However, the results are still modest compared to the potential of the two countries and the two sides need to make efforts to bring the field of trade and economic cooperation to the same level as the current good political relations.
On this occasion, through Ambassador Sergio Narea, the President respectfully sent his regards and best wishes, and invited President Gabriel Boric to arrange a visit to Vietnam at an appropriate time.
The President believes that, with his close affection for Vietnam, no matter what position he holds, the Ambassador will continue to be a bridge between the two peoples, making positive contributions to promoting the good traditional relations between Chile and Vietnam./.
