The Vietnam Police Team II showed their strength as expected in this year's tournament. The team brought the strongest force to the tournament with many famous faces such as: Phi Minh Long, Nguyen Van Dung, Nguyen Huy Hung... Previously, in the semi-final match, CAND Vietnam II defeated Thailand with a score of 2-1. Duc Nam and Nhu Tuan shined to score for the Vietnamese representative, while Songkhran was the author of the only goal for Thailand. The remaining semi-final match, the confrontation between Cambodia and Timor Leste ended in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. In the penalty shootout, Cambodia showed their mettle when winning a thrilling 11-10 victory to advance to the final match.
The final match between the two teams promises to be dramatic. The CAND Vietnam II team is full of determination to win the championship on home ground. The final match is considered a competition that will attract the attention of the audience.

Previously, at the opening ceremony of the tournament, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security emphasized: “Promoting the spirit of solidarity, honesty, and nobility, I believe that the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament will be a great success, contributing to fans with good football matches and beautiful goals; leaving a strong impression deeply demonstrating the solidarity, close and effective cooperation between the police forces of the countries, to protect the peaceful life of the people for the peace of humanity; continuing to affirm that Vietnam is always ready to be a friend, a reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community, always striving, increasing contributions, maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.”
Hosting a large-scale, professional tournament like the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Open has important political and diplomatic significance, demonstrating Vietnam's proactive and positive role in promoting regional cultural and sports exchanges, while strengthening trust and effective coordination with neighboring countries.
This is also an opportunity to affirm the position of the Vietnam Public Security force in the international arena; this activity not only trains sports, improves health, will, courage, and team spirit for officers and soldiers, but also an opportunity for us to strengthen solidarity and friendship so that you can better understand the image of the regular, elite, modern Vietnam Public Security force and the image of the country, people, culture, and achievements in socio-economic development of Vietnam in the new era.

On the evening of July 15, after the final match, the closing ceremony of the tournament will take place. The prize for the championship is 30,000 USD, the runner-up team will receive 15,000 USD and the two third-place teams will receive 5,000 USD each.
U23 Vietnam is ready for the journey to defend the Southeast Asian throne
On the afternoon of July 14, U23 Vietnam arrived in Jakarta (Indonesia) to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship. Flight VN631 departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 9:55 a.m. the same day and landed safely at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at around 1 p.m. (local time). The entire team traveled smoothly, in an atmosphere of concentration and high readiness. Head coach Kim Sang-sik and 23 carefully selected players after 3 weeks of training and friendly matches in Vietnam will aim for the highest goal of successfully defending the championship title won consecutively in 2022 and 2023.
In the afternoon, U23 Vietnam plans to rest, recover their physical strength and conduct a light training session to get used to the field. According to the schedule, the team will have 6 days to prepare before entering the opening match against U23 Laos at 5:00 p.m. on July 19, followed by the second match in Group B against U23 Cambodia at 8:00 p.m. on July 22.
The U23 Vietnam squad this time includes many promising young players such as Nguyen Dinh Bac, Viktor Le,... showing the great expectations of fans for a next generation capable of shouldering the responsibility in international tournaments.
