Accordingly, on October 15, Son Hai Group discovered that from Km382 - Km384 in Nghi Son town ( Thanh Hoa ), many sections had signs of abnormality on the road surface. During a field inspection, this unit discovered that many locations on this section had signs of black chemicals being poured, with a layer of decomposed plastic on top.

Mr. Hai said that the chemical spillage was found along a 2 km stretch of road, with some spilled sections extending about 0.5 m. Some of the spills were just a few days old, but many locations showed signs of spillage a few weeks ago.

This contractor said that they also checked some other locations where chemicals had been poured on the road before. When traffic moved, the tires had washed away the chemicals and the asphalt had decomposed, leaving only the stone surface.

Son Hai Group also requested these agencies to verify the exact situation. If there are signs of sabotage, timely measures must be taken to prevent it.

Road surface damage

"We also consider protective and preventive measures such as installing cameras at some locations to monitor those who destroy the road," said Mr. Hai.

The Nghi Son - Dien Chau Expressway project opened to traffic on September 1. Of which, the XL01 package from Km380+000 to Km389+900 was constructed by Son Hai Group with 49%. This contractor committed to a 10-year warranty for the project.

Previously, in 2015, on National Highway 1 through Quang Binh , which was constructed by Son Hai Group, there was also an incident of road surface damage due to chemical spillage.
