In recent times, the work of preventing and combating property theft in communes and wards in the province has changed positively. The police force has proactively deployed many professional measures to prevent, attack and suppress crimes. However, the situation of property theft crimes has become complicated at times and in places and accounts for a high proportion of crimes against social order, causing public confusion. In particular, the situation of motorbike theft occurring in families, boarding houses, schools, etc. often occurs when a part of the population is still negligent and subjective, creating conditions for criminals to commit crimes.
On August 2, Long Kien Commune Police arrested Tran Van Quai, residing in My Phu Hamlet, Long Kien Commune, for stealing a motorbike in the area and then selling it in An Phu Ward ( Ho Chi Minh City). Based on Quai's statement, Long Kien Commune Police quickly went to the above location to recover the evidence.
Previously, on July 22 and 23, at Thanh Tuyen motel in Tay Khanh 4 hamlet and Nhu Ngoc motel in Dong An 6 hamlet, Long Xuyen ward, thieves broke in and stole 2 motorbikes, totaling about 70 million VND. The subject took advantage of the fact that the tenants did not lock the fence, the motorbikes were left in the hallway unattended, and there was no anti-theft positioning device installed to sneak in and steal the motorbikes.
Recently, through professional measures, Long Xuyen Ward Police quickly arrested Nguyen Thanh Cong, residing in Dong Thinh 7 Hamlet, Long Xuyen Ward after Cong committed 4 motorbike thefts from July 5 to July 20. The Long Xuyen Ward Police have just filed a case against the subject and sent him to a compulsory drug rehabilitation facility.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Dao - Head of Long Kien Commune Police said: "Most motorcycle thefts have in common that people are subjective and lose vigilance, creating opportunities for thieves to commit crimes. To ensure that the task of maintaining security and order in the area is always smooth, especially after the locality has been merged and stabilized, the Commune Police force actively propagates the tricks of criminals to the people; focuses on increasing patrols to ensure security and order in the area; coordinates with professional forces to fight, investigate and strictly handle property thieves.
Through the recent incidents in the area, in order to effectively prevent and combat the activities of motorcycle theft criminals, in addition to strengthening the prevention and combat of the police force, the most important thing is that each citizen needs to raise awareness of vigilance to protect their own property and prevent criminals. According to Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chinh - Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police, to proactively prevent and combat the above type of crime, the Ward Police inform households, boarding houses, and schools in the ward about the methods and tricks of criminals. Proactively prevent, organize forces to guard and strictly protect so that criminals do not have conditions to operate. When people discover suspicious subjects, immediately notify the Ward Police for timely coordination and handling.
In addition, all levels, sectors and people need to raise their sense of responsibility in participating in the fight against crime. Each person needs to raise their sense of vigilance, take measures to protect their property, park their vehicle in an easily observed place, near their workplace, lock the steering wheel, and lock it carefully; do not be subjective, creating opportunities for subjects to take advantage of loopholes to commit theft.
