According to data released by market research firm Euromonitor at the end of 2024, up to 13 million home floor cleaning machines were sold globally in the one-year period, including the second half of 2023 and the first half of 2024.
Eurominitor defines wet-dry floor cleaners as household cleaning appliances that use clean water to clean hard floors and then vacuum up dirty water and debris. The company’s figures were finalized in November 2024.
Euromonitor data shows that the leading wet-dry floor cleaning machine brand in terms of global market share is Tineco, a brand of Ecovacs Robotics. With 5 million units sold, Tineco has a 37% market share.
Among vacuum cleaners, Precedence Research found that wet-dry floor cleaners are one of the fastest growing product lines. These products were previously popular in areas such as factories and kitchens because they can both vacuum and mop floors, and remove all waste. However, demand from individual customers is increasing, especially in major cities in Asia.
Euromonitor research, published in May 2024, shows that China is the second largest market for vacuum cleaners, and its products are also the most innovative and fastest growing in the world . Annual sales growth of this product line is always in the double digits.
“Consumers prefer to use this product instead of a traditional mop, something they are reluctant to do every day,” Euromonitor's article emphasized.

Mr. Peter Cao said that Chinese people do not have the habit of wearing shoes indoors, but want the floor to be clean. That is why they like floor cleaning machines with high cleaning ability. He also realized the same habit of Vietnamese people when visiting customers' homes.
“When I visit families, I find that they not only care about keeping their homes clean, but also have high expectations for the convenience and efficiency that the products bring,” said Mr. Peter Cao.
From vacuum cleaners with familiar extended nozzle designs, users are increasingly familiar with floor cleaners that have both vacuuming functions, rollers and water tanks to increase cleaning efficiency. However, wet-dry floor cleaners are also constantly being improved in design to be more compact.

Manufacturers are also incorporating more technology into new floor cleaners. Self-cleaning rollers and hot water cleaning are becoming standard for mid-range and higher-end models. Some models, like Tineco’s S9 Steam, can also heat water and steam mop floors for added cleaning efficiency.
“We see that many users tend to use robot vacuum cleaners and handheld devices like Tineco in parallel to increase cleaning efficiency, especially in situations that require quick, detailed and direct operations,” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan, Director of Giga.vn retail system.
In the Vietnamese market, brands such as Dreame, Tineco, Dyson continuously introduce new floor cleaning products to the Vietnamese market. The price range is also very diverse, from about 10 million users can buy a floor cleaning model such as Tineco Floor One Stretch S6 or Roborock Dyad Air, with basic self-cleaning ability. At a higher price range, models such as Tineco S9 Steam have added features such as self-washing cloths with hot water, cleaning floors with hot air.
