This result is not surprising, because the seniors in the Vietnamese women's volleyball team possess superior experience and skills. In sets 1 and 2, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet did not even field his strongest lineup.
This gave U21 Vietnam a few chances to rise up. But they only caused trouble for the other teams in a few small points. In set 1, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won 25-21.
In the second set, there was no longer any chase. There were several times when the two teams continuously exchanged shots. But the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still dominated and won with a large margin of 25-13.
In set 3, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet unexpectedly sent all the strongest names onto the field such as Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh... With an overwhelming game, the senior team did not give U21 Vietnam any chance to show off. They continued to win 25-9 to easily enter the semi-finals of VTV Cup 2025.
The next opponent of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will be Chinese Taipei. At the AVC Nations Cup a few weeks ago, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeated this opponent. Therefore, the ticket to the final is almost in the hands of the home team.
The remaining semi-final will be between Korabelka (Russia) and the Philippines. Meanwhile, the semi-finals for places 5 to 8 are Australia - Thailand U21 and Vietnam U21 - Sichuan.
