At the regular press conference of the third quarter of the Ministry of Finance held on September 27, responding to the Ministry of Finance's viewpoint on preferential tax rates for press agencies in the draft revised corporate income tax, Mr. Truong Ba Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Management and Supervision of Tax, Fees and Charges Policy - said that on September 6, the Government submitted to the National Assembly a draft revised Law on Corporate Income Tax with many contents, including tax incentives and the press sector. "Given the actual difficulties of press agencies when their incomes have decreased, based on the opinions of press agencies and a number of ministries and branches, the Ministry of Finance reports to the Government a plan to supplement tax incentives for the press sector.
The Ministry of Finance has added the press to the tax incentive sector. The press sector includes print newspapers and other types of newspapers. Therefore, the income tax on print newspapers is kept at the current tax rate of 10%. This is the highest incentive rate. In the future, the policy will give incentives to other types of newspapers (such as electronic newspapers... - PV) with a tax rate of 15% instead of the current 20%" - Mr. Tuan informed. Regarding this issue, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi said that the Ministry of Finance listens to the proposals of press agencies. In the coming time, the Ministry of Finance will continue to complete the draft of the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax to propose to competent authorities preferential policies to ensure harmony and support for press agencies.
