Previously, the National Population Data Center, under the Ministry of Public Security, also issued a notice on the VNeID website and application, warning about new types of fraud scenarios, taking advantage of the recent merger of provinces and cities.
“Many bad guys have called, texted via phone or social networking platforms like Facebook, Zalo, Telegram... pretending to be police officers or officials of committees at all levels, then sent fake links and downloaded applications of unknown origin.
They ask people to access to update personal information, thereby performing acts of intrusion or taking over the use of mobile devices to steal data, personal information or money in the victims' electronic transaction accounts,” the National Population Data Center informed.
This agency affirmed that the updated information according to the new administrative boundaries will be automatically carried out by the Ministry of Public Security, ensuring the rights and accurate information for the people. Therefore, individuals absolutely must not provide information, bank accounts, OTP codes to anyone via phone, text message or social networks without clearly verifying their identity.
At the same time, do not access strange links of unknown origin to provide personal information, bank account information, etc. When detecting signs of suspected fraud, immediately contact the bank to protect the account, and at the same time report to the nearest police agency or VNeID application for timely guidance and handling.
After July 1, people across the country are interested in how their personal administrative information will change after the merger. The large number of accesses to view data makes it difficult to log in to the application. VNeID has now automatically converted cadastral information according to the new structure. However, some users have responded that there are missing documents and that marital status is not synchronized.
