This year's competition attracted nearly 2,000 excellent candidates selected from 230 teams from universities, colleges, secondary schools and high schools nationally.

Right from the qualifying round, there was a breakthrough in the quality of candidates when nearly 90% of the candidates scored 700 points or more - the standard score of the international MOS Computer Science exam which is being applied in more than 150 countries and territories around the world. This is also the score that Certiport Computer Science Testing Organization (USA) determined to be eligible for the MOS certificate which is globally valid and is being chosen by many colleges and universities as a criterion for considering the output standards of the General Computer Science subject and many businesses prioritize in recruiting personnel. The number of candidates achieving a perfect score of 1,000 points increased sharply with 178 students, including students in secondary school.

The contest also shows that the quality of IT education at the high school level is clearly changing when among the 150 best national candidates selected to compete in the national final round, the high school group has up to 98 students (accounting for over 50%), many of whom come from the Northern Midlands and Mountains, the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta.

Ms. Doan Nguyen Van Khanh - Executive Director of IIG Vietnam Education Organization said that the new point of this year's national final exam is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to handle the requirements. This innovation aims to keep up with the trend of applying AI in digital transformation, especially in highly practical fields such as office informatics, while also assessing the candidates' multi-dimensional abilities, helping them have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to apply AI in the subject of Information Technology./.

The World Computer Science Championship is an international competition for students aged 13 to 22 on a global scale. The competition aims to find and honor the world's best computer talents in the use of office computer applications. The competition is organized annually by Certiport Corporation (USA) since 2002.

In Vietnam, 2025 is the 16th year that the Competition has been launched and organized nationally. Young Vietnamese IT talents have brought home 21 medals (including 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals). In the past 10 years, Vietnam has continuously been in the top 10 strongest teams in the world.
