After more than 4 months of hard work on the land of the enemy, with a sense of responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties, 32 officers and soldiers of Team K72 organized the search and recovery of remains in 80 villages, 40 communes in 16 districts of the two provinces of Kratie and Kampong Thom. As a result, the team recovered 80 remains of martyrs - of which 74 were found in Kratie province.

This is the result of close coordination between Team K72 and relevant agencies and units, along with active support and facilitation from the Cambodian government and people. This further affirms the common efforts in humanitarian work, while demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking water".

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the 515 Steering Committee of Military Region 7 and the 515 Steering Committee of Binh Phuoc province expressed their deep gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the noble international duty, and at the same time praised the spirit of dedication and overcoming difficulties of the officers and soldiers of Team K72.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the martyrs’ remains were brought back for preservation and burial at the provincial martyrs’ cemetery on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025). This is not only an event of deep gratitude, but also an occasion to remind present and future generations to always remember the great contributions of those who fell for independence, freedom and noble international obligations.
