According to the Bangkok Post on June 28, this protest was organized by the Ruam Palang Paendin Pokpong Athipatai (National Power Alliance to Protect Sovereignty ) movement. This is the largest protest since the Pheu Thai Party (Pheu Thai) took power in 2023.

People carrying Thai flags began pouring into the protest site in Bangkok at 9am on June 28. The activities began with a merit-making ceremony, followed by a speech by the protest leader and performances on the main stage facing Din Daeng Road.
Most of the protesters were over 50 years old and had participated in previous protests against the administrations of Ms. Paetongtarn's father, former Prime Minister Thaksin, and her aunt, former Prime Minister Yingluck.

Based on data collected at 3:30 p.m., police estimated that about 6,000 people participated in the protest. Security measures were deployed. More than 200 CCTV cameras and police-operated drones were deployed to monitor the situation in the area. In addition, explosive ordnance disposal units and eight K-9 dogs were mobilized to patrol.
Four ambulances are on standby to respond to emergencies. Hospitals near the protest area include the Police Hospital, Phramongkutklao Hospital and Rajavithi Hospital.
Ms Paetongtarn, who is in Chiang Rai to inspect the severe flooding situation, told reporters that she had instructed security agencies to monitor the situation.
"They have the right to protest as long as it is peaceful. I am ready to negotiate if the protest group wants to have a peaceful discussion," said the Thai Prime Minister.
