Hanoi FC entered the third match of the 2023/2024 Asian Cup C1 with a trip to Wuhan Three Towns. But before they could make a difference, the Vietnamese representative soon had to accept the bitter consequences.

In the 4th minute, Tagueu had a dangerous high kick and immediately received a red card. Playing short from too early, Hanoi FC was forced to retreat the entire squad to their own half to focus on defense. Up front, Van Quyet had almost no chance as he was always marked by 2-3 opposing defenders.

However, this was the half in which Hanoi FC's defense played well. Under great pressure from the home team, Duy Manh and his teammates still tried to stop the opposing strikers. Goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan had at least 3 excellent saves from shots that could have been converted into goals.

In the 45th minute, after many attempts to attack, Wuhan Three Towns finally got what they needed. From Davidson's cross, Wei Shihao took 2 steps to finish and put the ball into the Hanoi FC net.

In the second half, the game did not change much. Wuhan Three Towns were still in complete control of the game on the field. In the 64th minute, receiving an accurate cross from his teammate, striker Markao jumped high to head the ball to double the gap for Wuhan Three Towns. But that advantage did not last too long. Coach Le Duc Tuan's adjustments were effective.

Substitutes Tien Long, Caion, Hai Long, Van Toan played enthusiastically and helped Hanoi FC have many remarkable counter-attacks. In the 87th minute, Hai Long passed the ball intelligently to Tuan Hai, the striker born in 1998 eliminated central defender Ren Hang before finishing cleverly to reduce the score to 1-2 for Hanoi FC.

In the extra time, Van Nam's red card extinguished the hope of the Vietnamese representative. But surprisingly, Caion and Tuan Hai still had opportunities to score but failed to take advantage. In the end, Hanoi FC lost 1-2 to Wuhan Three Towns.
