Specifically, at Km 85+680, Ke Le slope area, passing through National Highway 48, Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, there was a severe landslide since October 2023. Rocks and soil fell from the mountain, blocking the traffic route with a length of over 200 meters. The traffic management unit has only temporarily handled the first step of ensuring traffic.

Faced with the above situation, in early January 2023, the Vietnam Road Administration allowed the traffic management unit to implement landslide prevention according to the mountain-clearing design, lowering the height of over 30 meters with a length of over 200 meters in this area. Up to now, the traffic management unit has mobilized 3 excavators and trucks to urgently carry out the construction, currently reaching over 50% of the volume.

According to the plan, after completing the mountain leveling and lowering the height, a stone gabion embankment of over 200 meters will be deployed and the damaged railing will be repaired. It is expected that by January 30, the Ke Le slope landslide will be completed, ensuring traffic safety for people and vehicles passing through here.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung - Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Quy Chau district said: The district has 5 landslides that threaten the safety of traffic participants and have only been temporarily handled. In the long term, the State needs to support capital to handle them soon to ensure safety for the people.
