VietNamNet Newspaper belongs to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung has announced decisions to reorganize and strengthen the apparatus of affiliated press agencies, including Vietnamnet Newspaper.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper (formerly under the Ministry of Science and Technology) was appointed to the position of Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper (now under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions).

Mr. Le Cong Binh, Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Development Newspaper, was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Ethnic and Religious Studies Journal.

Ms. Bui Thi Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ethnicity and Development Newspaper, was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

Ms. Hoang Thi Bao Huong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ethnicity and Development Newspaper, was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

Mr. Le The Vinh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper.

Previously, according to Decree No. 48/2022/ND-CP, VietNamNet Newspaper is a public service unit under the Ministry of Information and Communications.

After the organization was reorganized and streamlined, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Science and Technology merged into the Ministry of Science and Technology. VietNamNet Newspaper continued to operate until the competent authority approved the transfer of VietNamNet Newspaper to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

From June 3, according to Decree 114 of the Government, VietNamNet Newspaper was transferred from the Ministry of Science and Technology to become a unit under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. This is a new Ministry established on February 18, 2025, formed from the Ethnic Minorities Committee and receiving additional functions and tasks of religious management from the Ministry of Home Affairs .

After being merged into a public service unit, VietNamNet Newspaper is the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, with the function of propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs, beliefs and religions; providing information on political, economic, cultural and social life at home and abroad.

VietNamNet Newspaper will have the following types and press products: VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Special Page of VietNamNet Electronic Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Printed Newspaper; Ethnicity and Development Publication at the end of the month.
