In the quarter-final match of the Asian Women's Cup C1, the HCMC Women's Club encountered many difficulties against the UAE representative, Abu Dhabi Country Club. Coach Nguyen Hong Pham's team even fell behind by 3 goals after the first half ended.

In the second half, the Abu Dhabi Country Club coach changed his defensive counter-attacking tactics. The changes helped Ho Chi Minh City take the lead by reducing the score to 2-3. At this point, Abu Dhabi Country Club was forced to adjust their playing style and the result was a goal that raised the score to 4-2.
However, the UAE representative still could not win when the HCMC women's club created an unbelievable comeback by winning 5-4.
After the victory over Abu Dhabi Country Club, HCMC Women's Club became the first Vietnamese team to reach the semi-finals of the Asian Women's C1 Cup. They achieved this feat in their first time participating in the tournament.
