90 disadvantaged students return to school to continue studying

On October 16, news from the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau said that 90/157 students in difficult circumstances had returned to school.

Specifically, thanks to the mobilization and support of sectors and localities, by the beginning of October, 90/157 students with difficult circumstances returned to school to continue studying. As for the remaining 67 students, 16 students dropped out of school to go to vocational school, 19 students dropped out of school to work, 20 students dropped out of school to help with housework, 3 students could not go to school due to accidents or illness, and 9 students were mobilized but still did not go to school.

Many schools have supported students to pay the fees at the beginning of the year; at the same time, awarded scholarships and support money from sponsors and benefactors.

In particular, for cases requiring support for ferry fares and accommodation, some schools have considered providing support from the fund to support students in difficult circumstances contributed by teachers and students... For some students who follow their parents to work far away, temporarily reside in other localities or outside the province and need to go to school, the Department of Education and Training supports families in contacting the Department of Education and Training and schools in the localities where the family temporarily resides to create conditions for them to continue studying.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper , in the 2023-2024 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau reported that 157 students from difficult circumstances did not attend school. Immediately after that, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the above agencies to continue to review any students from difficult circumstances who did not attend school in addition to the number reported by the Department of Education and Training.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities and related units to specifically review the difficult circumstances of each 157 students. On that basis, there are appropriate solutions to support students to go to school, absolutely not allowing students to not go to school due to difficult circumstances.
