66 cannon salutes to celebrate 80th National Day

On the evening of September 2, at My Dinh Stadium, the Artillery Brigade 45 fired 66 cannon volleys to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

The My Dinh Stadium square on the evening of September 2 was packed with people coming to watch the 105mm artillery and wait for the high-altitude fireworks display at 9 p.m. Security forces set up a hard barrier to keep people about 50 meters away from the artillery site. The howitzer battery of the 45th Artillery Brigade of the Artillery - Missile Command completed its mission of firing 21 cannon volleys this morning to open the 80th National Day parade.

At 8:45 p.m. on September 2, the Artillery - Missile Corps announced through loudspeakers that "this morning's mission was successfully completed. Tonight, the Artillery Team will fire a series of fireworks to celebrate National Day" and invited the people to enjoy.

Soldiers transport ceremonial artillery shells to the battlefield, where 15 105 mm cannons are located.

The ammunition used in the A80 parade rehearsal, general rehearsal and National Day celebration is specialized, without bullets but only with propellant, ensuring safety for the surrounding area.

The gunners took up positions. The entire team was organized into five platoons, each in charge of three guns.

At 8:50 p.m., the cannons opened fire one after another. In 6 minutes, the Artillery Team fired a total of 6 rounds with 66 cannons. In the first 4 rounds, each gun fired one round.

On the fifth turn, the three-gun platoon opened fire simultaneously...

In the final volley, 15 cannons roared together, closing the show.

Thousands of people at My Dinh Stadium were excited and continuously clapped their hands after each shot. People joined in singing "As if Uncle Ho is here on the great victory day" after the artillery team completed 66 volleys of cannons.

At 9 p.m., fireworks across from My Dinh Stadium Square lit up the sky. The gunners stood at attention on duty in the field, watching the fireworks with the people.

On National Day night, fireworks lit up My Dinh, many people enjoyed the last day of holiday before returning to work.
