517 million VND to support intensive mulberry cultivation and high-tech silkworm farming

According to information from the Lam Dong Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, the Center is implementing a high-tech Mulberry Intensive Cultivation and Silkworm Breeding Model. Accordingly, the Center will support cooperatives, cooperative groups and farmers with recognized silkworm varieties such as: VH2020, LD22, VS02, TN2019...; support essential materials and provide guidance on building a hybrid mulberry intensive cultivation model, silkworm breeding to ensure productivity and quality, and at the same time guide farmers to organize large-scale silkworm breeding (3-year-old silkworms). The areas where the models are implemented are organized in communes in the Duc Trong area. The cost of implementing the model is over 517 million VND, of which the state budget supports 370 million VND; the counterpart capital of farmers is over 147 million VND.

This is a model of Application and replication of scientific and technological research results recognized by the Department of Animal Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for implementation into local production practices to develop diverse silkworm breeds, transfer technical processes of intensive mulberry cultivation and silkworm rearing, contributing to improving productivity and quality of cocoons.
